Hi,
Welcome to the MANSEC blog. We are two cybersecurity engineers, Anthony and Maxime. We launched this blog for one simple reason: cybersecurity is a complex and fast-moving subject. Most online content is either incomprehensible to non-specialists, or packed with alarmist marketing designed to worry you rather than inform you.
Our goal: explain things simply and bring as many people as possible up to speed on cybersecurity and good practices in this field.
We genuinely care about helping you stay protected.
What to expect
No “top 10 critical vulnerabilities” lists, no unreadable cryptographic diagrams, no complicated mathematics. Instead, clear explanations on concrete topics:
- What is a VPN actually for? (and when it’s useless)
- How to spot a phishing email in 30 seconds
- Why your password manager is not optional
- Is public wifi dangerous? (spoiler: less than it was 10 years ago)
In short, everything we wish our friends and family understood when they ask us “so, is it dangerous or not?”.
Who is this for?
- Non-specialists who want to understand what’s going on under the hood — you, your friends, your grandparents…
- Colleagues from other fields (devs, sysadmins, HR, legal) who deal with security without making it their core focus.
- Us, as a notebook to formalise what we explain on a regular basis. It’s also a chance to practise making things as clear as possible. We believe a good cybersecurity professional must be able to adapt to their audience.
We’re excited about what’s ahead. Feel free to send us your feedback on X, LinkedIn, or the future contact form.
We’re not perfect and we welcome all constructive remarks and questions. After all, we’re here to learn too.
“Security through knowledge.”
